IE's inability to do proper PNG-24 bit transparency really annoys me. My website conforms to all the WWW standards, but I have to use a hack to make IE display it properly.

It also only partially supports CSS 1 and even worse support for CSS2. Whereas Firefox supports 1 and 2 fully and partially supports 3

I switched over to Firefox as I was having loads of problems with the "About Blank" Worm/virus - you don't get your web pages hijacked on Firefox.

I have since cured (most of) the "About Blank" problems and tend to flip between both Browsers now. I like the tabs on Firefox but some sites seem to connect better on IE (May be my perception).

Go to about:config, and see if

network.dns.disableipv6

is set to true

That will seriously speed up site access. It won't affect your browsing, don't ask my why its even on by default.

Sorry MYOB, which menus should I be looking at? I can't seem to find the options you mention.

MS are going down hill there profits fall every year while Linux community and Mac keeps growing because people get fed up with viruses and MS bullying tactics.

Nice thought but Microsoft have just recorded their biggest-ever quarter in turnover (Oct- Dec 04). And, with profits of $3.46 billion, they've more than doubled the profits recorded in the same quarter in 2003.

Mac use is growing slightly. According to W3C figures, they grew in February to a whopping 2.8% (up from 2.4% the previous February) Bet MS are quivering their boots about that. Linux, with 3.2% of the market, is the bigger threat.

I've been a Firefox user for months now, I see no reason whatsoever to go back. I've been a Thunderbird user for three months too - it's now my favourite email client (although I miss the Eudora chillies).

Open a new tab, type about:config in the menu bar and press enter. You'll be brought to the uber-geeky preferences menu

Firefox lets you change virtually ANYTHING through about:config.
