Where does the FA go should Capello fail, view point being that this, surely is last chance saloon for the FA?

Cheers

They employ another manager?

Have no idea why this would be considered last chance saloon.

It would be some one like Harry Rednapp, but it makes me cry the money we have wasted trying to buy sucess, should have been invested in grassroots footy and someone like Martin O'Neil at the top.

the more interesting question(s) is what is deemed as failure? Not winning 2010? only getting to the semi's? and who decides what is failure?

England are the footballing equivalent of Newcastle, huge support who delude themselves into thinking because we pay players over the odds that this makes the players more talented than the opposition.

Here are the FACTS:
Not won anything for 44 years by the time of the next World Cup
U-21's have done f*** all
U-17's have done f*** all

The hardest thing for a player to do is to go past one of the opposition, of the current England squad NONE of them can do that regularly, no one can unlock the box, play the killer ball, or take the game by the scruff of the neck.

Owen, good finisher but legs have gone at highest level
Rooney, only scores against mediocre opposition and suspect temperament
Defoe, there's a reason he was 4th choice at SPURS last season before being sold
Ashton, Bob Latchford with hair dye
Crouch, Freak

If we can't get out of a group which includes average teams such as Russia and Croatia there is NO WAY we will be world beaters in 24 months.

I don't think Cappello will fail, he's a winner with a capital W, and he's shown that wherever he's gone.

He's being paid so much so that the F.A can tap into his vast reservoir of footballing knowledge to change the entire culture of English football from grass roots up.

Nail on the head. We're not good enough. Get over it.

I find it odd that we are built up by the press as world beaters then it is a long way down when we fail. We are an average footballing nation and the press should realise this.

I love England and will contine to spend thousands on watching my glorious nation abroad. But my expectations have been diluted due to the poor quality of football.

But my membership has been renewed and I am looking forward to trips to Belarus, Croatia, Barcelona (Andorra) and Kazakhstan.

NO SURRENDER

Now what wouldbe an interesting question is :

When the :censored: are the F.A going to sort out the structure of our kids game !?.

11 a side at U11 ! No wonder we never win sweet F.A with a set up like that

If you love England so much why have you got a Northern Irish defaced Union Flag as your avatar?

The big question is really how do you measure success/failure. Our record is not that bad. 1986 knocked out by hand of god and the winners. 1990, knocked out by the winners. 2002 knocked out by the winners. 1998 & 2006 qtr finalists. Everyone raves about Portugal but they've never won anything. Same with Spain.

Whilst I never rated McLaren, we were without 6 first choice players for the game against Croatia! Croatia hopes in the finals have been written off just because they are missing one, Eduardo.
