HI NSCers,

When I place a PDF into InDesign, black text that previously had a colour breakdown of C0 M0 Y0 K100 changes to another CMYK value that uses all 4 colours. It seems to be flattening the PDF.

Is there any way of importing a PDF into InDesign, and keeping the values/layers as they should be?

Thanks!

Import > Import Special > Settings > Layers > and then there should be dropdown.

Thanks Matt - I am being a thickie. I can only find 'Import XML' under 'File' in InDesign, but that sends me to my desktop to choose something (but I can't chose PDFs). Where is the 'Import' you refer to?

Cheers!

Apologies I completely made all that up.

I have never used InDesign.
