It's quite long. So I'll try and break it down.

A man had his first kid, and called him Stephen. All was well and happy. After a few years he decided to post a picture of his son on a family forum he had been writing on -

This was around 1999-2000.

In 2010, some ten years later, he Googled himself after reading an article discussing how you ought to keep track of your online reputation. On page 19 of the results, he saw his name in the midst of a bunch of Japanese text. He assumed one of his old webpages had just been translated into Japanese. BUT, upon visiting that page, he found the following image -

Along with the image, he found a Japanese application someone had created called 'generate your own Stephen saying something image'.

The generator got so well known, they apparently started to look for Stephen.

So, he kept researching, and eventually found a term that cropped up quite a bit, 'baby gedou'. He placed that into Google Images, and found the following -

Someone had created a sculpture, or a toy of Stephen!

It turns out, a whole heap of applications, pictures, etc. have been created.

Here's an 8bit computer game involving Stephen -

Some kind of street fighter playing card -

And rather oddly, Kirt Cobain -

Reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons when Homer finds his image on the side of a box of "Mr Sparkle"
