Can’t deny they are a bigger club than us . It’s always been tight . Them shading it with top flight seasons possibly. This win along with a couple of finals does make them bigger conclusively imo .

Bigger not classier !
Yes that is realistically all true. Hurts to admit it, but it always feels like we're playing a bit of catch up.

I remember the day after the glorious Europa Ajax away game, I found this amazing shop in Amsterdam by accident:

Famous football retro shirts and merch from the last 70 odd years. Lovely, very cool and very expensive gear. On the shelf with AC Milan, Barca, Juve, Benfica and Liverpool branded retro kit bags was a ****ing Palace bag! Wound me right up. Obviously I told the owner he can take that down immediately and shove it in the store room : - ) But it was a subtle reminder that we've got a long way to go with regards size/reputation and that we probably need to do what they have just done... win something one day.

Bumley.
Turns them into Bumley.
Relegated by a European over-stretch.
Lovely stuff.
Burnley finished 16th in 2017.
7th in 2018 to qualify for Europe.
15th in 2019 (having barely actually played any games in Europe because they were knocked out before the group stage).
10th in 2020.
17th in 2021.
18th in 2022 to be relegated.

Somehow, despite the 7th being the obvious outlier and finishing pretty much exactly where you'd expect them to the following season, and then not being relegated for another three years after they played in Europe, this has ended up being the shorthand for the dangers of overreach. It's bollocks. It's obvious bollocks on a staggeringly obvious scale. :lolol:
