By what I said in my post. People mistake consistency with being high up in the table.
We have been far too inconsistent. Decent wins followed by draws at home to the poorest teams. Almost the definition of inconsistency
So what you’re saying is we’ve been consistent against the poorer teams?

Yes. Lovely to end the season with a win, completing a double and tearing them apart in the second half.

I kinda knew our European hopes were ruined when Webster and Rutter limped off in the FAC tie, so no disappointment here this evening. That game completely changed our season.

Now, looking forward, praying TB will give Hurzeler the tools to improve on this season.

Absolutely - and sorry that the season has finished. Hopefully next season will see a continuation of this. Roll on the weekend of August 16th! With (it seems) no foreign friendlies, hopefully the players will be fit, healthy and raring to go.

It's going to be interesting to see how our squad is augmented during the transfer window, and who we say goodbye to (some more sadly than others).

Other teams will have additional headaches from more fixtures, travel and potential injuries, hopefully giving us an additional edge at times.

We've had a LOT of key injuries, we've been bedding in a new manager (youngest, doncha know?), new signings got crocked early doors, young players still learning their trade, had tough cup runs (unlike AHEM other clubs), and hopefully put a dent in Spurs' lap of depreciation today!

Yep. Cracking day out with my mates. Very funny pre match beers with some hungover Sunderland fans, accidentally ending up in front of @Stumpy Tim in the ground and some beers with some decent Orient fans after the game.

We did what was asked of us in the game. First 45 was poor as playing JH up top and wingers turning out blunted our attack. Fair play to FH for changing it up.

It was very annoying that them up the road killed the 8th place in Europe thing. It’ll be even funnier if the dual ownership bites them in the arse.

But writing now I don’t care about any of that. It’s been a “stone cold” classic away day.

Yep, very happy with a tough season that has been well navigated by the club, manager, players and most of our fans.

Those fans of a more. . . erm. . . let's say dramatic disposition continue to amuse 🤣

A good season with some inevitable lows but ultimately, the results speak for themselves.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

There are several threads on a similar theme. I'm going to answer this one because I think the questions allows you to answer it in a way that doesn't come across as overly critical or happy clappy.

Am I happy with the season? Happiness is an emotion. My overriding emotion with this season is frustration. Frustration at what could have been but for various reasons wasn't.

If you'd asked me at the start of the season if I'd be happy with an fa cup quarter final, 61 points and 8th place with 8 teams qualifying for Europe then almost definitely I'd have said yes so there's not too much to be unhappy about but...I'm not going to be able to shake the feeling that the way the season panned out it's ended up as one of missed opportunity and that's incredibly frustrating for me.

So ultimately I can't say I'm happy but I'm not unhappy, I'm just frustrated.
