Liverpool, Arsenal, Forest, Brentford are at least 4 I would say have been consistent this season.
Not the best 4 but you feel they go into games and win the games they are likely to and lose the ones you expect them to (obviously less so for Liverpool and Arsenal).

I’m sure someone will pull out some stat to p*** all over that but just my gut feeling seeing the results come in each week
Forest choked at the end so I wouldn’t say they were. Brentford finished just below us, so how are you judging consistency?

Just going on the first half and my take on the line up and system.

Anyway enough negativity I’m happy with the season overall, just saw too many mistakes from the manager for my liking. Opinions.
No probs, and I hope he makes many more mistakes which result in a 4 -1 win away from home. :)

By what I said in my post. People mistake consistency with being high up in the table.
We have been far too inconsistent. Decent wins followed by draws at home to the poorest teams. Almost the definition of inconsistency

I didn't dare dream that we'd still be in the PL, eight seasons on.
This really,

When we went up I said to my old man I’d be happy with two seasons and seeing some exciting players start their climb up towards the top of the game.

To be where we are 8 years later is a miracle. Proud and thankful to have been here for it.

I would have been excited about another European campaign, but in truth we didn't deserve it.

Far too inconsistent.

But a comfortable 8th position from a "meh" season indicates there is a lot of potential in this group.

Keep Mitoma and we could have a stunning season next time.

Lose him and we should still compete.

Strong end the season, another top half PL finish and decent cup run.

Holding onto key players as usual the key

So, did Palace stop us getting Europe in the end?

Is it OK to be vaguely content whilst still seeing the season as an opportunity missed?
No, That’s exactly the right way to see it.

We were unfortunate to be in transition when, City, United and Spurs were in turmoil.

Palaceand Spurs were better placed to take advantage and did.

They will both need to sort their squads out next season, if they want to maintain their progress.

Come on you negative ones! I'm a 77 year old 'granny' and have been supporting the Super Sesgulls since probably before some of you were born! I remember when we were beaten 9- 0 by Middlesborough! I know just how far our team has come since then. The traumas on and off the pitch, fighting for our very survival! Don't be so bloody negative! (Some of you). Fabian has done a great job this season. True supporters support their team through thick and thin! Be proud! Be very proud!

There is certainly much to be enouraged about, not least of all the contributions of the new players at the business end of the season. Wieffer, Hinsh, Gomez, MOR, Ayari, Rutter, Gruda, Minteh all improving fast.

Then there are the experienced pros like Welbeck who had his highest goalscoring season, Webster who is like a player reborn. Then there's Baleba who has taken another step towards greatness. And the manager wasn't helped by injuries.

Hurzeler is obvously doing a lot right. Hopefully, it will be other club's turn to lose players - a lot of BMuff, Brentford, Palace players and all 3 managers will he highly desirable. If we start the season with all bar JP it will be incredible.

Very happy. It’s been a season of highs with a few lows, but the table doesn’t lie. 8th is a great place to finish.

Slightly concerned about who we might lose. Looks like Pedro and Mitoma are near certainties. It’s been an absolute pleasure seeing the later play. Hope we keep hold of Baleba, JPVH and MOR.

Will be interesting to see how we line up next season, but we already have Yalcouye, Osman, Enciso, Buonanotte, Tzimas, Ferguson and Boscagli to bolster the numbers.
