I really need to sort out my pension plans and so require the services of an independent financial advisor. Applications and reccomendations gratefully received here.

I'd go to Endsleigh Financial who are owned by Zurich......i don't work for them or anything.......
If you do not mind paying charges go with any of the above or below.
However if you want to keep costs to a minimum then try Hargreaves Lansdown | ISAs, SIPPs, funds and shares | Share dealing .I manage my own pension and get charged £200 a year.Look for the links into the pension section and read all the options.You can get an initial meeting for free.

Why would you want to do that...give them shed loads of commission and watch your hard earned decrease. Under the pillow is better advice than they will dish out!

To be a Chartered Financial Planner I have taken getting on for 20 exams. I have over 25 years experience and I charge a fee not commission for my services.
I assume your pearls of wisdom are free?

Ditto. As a fellow Chartered Financial Planner, hopefully, when the new higher qualifications & commission is outlawed, the reputation & professionalism of the industry will improve - so long as the public steer clear of the banks!

Naughty, naughty Steve. As you well know, no need to steer clear of the banks as they'll be doing the same as the IFA's with similarly higher qualified Chartered Financial Planners.
