Snippet from the Indy

"The Leicester midfielder Junior Lewis has turned down a loan move to conference club Aldershot....Lewis is not even a regular for Leicester's reserve side under manager Micky Adams and while Peter Taylor's faith in the player he signed for Leicester from Gillingham has not diminished, his attempts to attract Lewis to Hull have stalled over the player's £9,000-a-week contract."

I still think he might be persuaded to come here on loan and put himself back in the shop window.

Nah, I don't reckon he's worth it especially as ther eis probably far better loan players out there who would do better for us.

£9,000 a week and he's not even in Leicester's reserves!!! And people still wonder why Brooker went there.

But we haven't got a good creative midfielder and that's what we need!

well he wouldn't solve that problem would he.

he was pants as a creative force, good holding player but hardly defence splitting - look at the player he kept out of the side - Oatway!!

and 9 grand a week for sitting on his arse - words fail me

But at least he can pass it around the deck and would be better at creating than anything we have at the moment.

If u think Lewis is the answer then it was a stupid f***ing question.

Lush sorry but u are clueless!!

--9 grand a week- no1 he is not worth that no.2 we don't have that kind of money.

--Lewis is not a Coppell player

--There are loads of better midfielders out there who could do a better job for less.

Martin O'connor for instance.

stop beating the lewis drum it's boring.

Actually Dwayne, in giving the quote from the Independent I was, I thought, demonstrating that we cannot sign Junior Lewis at that kind of money.

If he came on loan, we would pay a percentage of his wages, not the whole amount - you think we paid £9,000 a week last time???

Sorry if it went over your head.

While I don't think Lewis is the answer now, it has to be said that when he played for us last time, Chippy suddenly became a good creative midfielder as he had someone he could trust next to him to do the rest of the work.

This season, Charlie is working his nuts off as usual but neither Chippy or Jolly are playing well or being that creative. This leaves a midfield with plenty of grafters and nothing more.

I'd like to see Hammond given a go but as SC has shipped him off to Aldershot, it ain't gonna happen soon.

p.s maybe hammonds loan is purely a 'get fit' excercise. and 22 not 19 can we please bring the beach boy and marney back??

either marney is good enough and should be playing or he's not and should be RELEASED- he's 22 not 19 ffs.

I doubt he was on 9k a week last time we had him although agreed. We would have paid a perctenage of that. I think we could get him for 2 grand a week.

Lewis is exactly what we need at this moment. We need someone who can put their foot on the ball and create some time and space. Rogers is the one who should be doing this, but for whatever reason he isn't at the moment. A calm head in stormy seas.

How could anyone think we would be paying the full whack of his wages ?

Lewis would make a big difference. If the wages could be sorted he would be a good signing. Won't happen as the only manager who has ever rated him is at Hull .

we need 2 very good midfielders.

why oh why didnt we sign stephen hunt!!!??!!

Because the deal would have gone to a tribunal and we would have no control over the fee we would have had to pay.

And as bretford were looking for something aroun 100k and we were looking for a free, it would have taken a sizable chuck out of Coppells budget - not a risk he wanted to take.
