Give FDM the gloves

People are too quick to pick up on Hendo's mistakes, but not his good work. And for FDM, it's the other way round, he NEVER makes any mistakes and is a god.
All the time we've had 2 decent keepers, either Roberts/FDm & Hendo/FDM, EVERY manager has had FDM as the number 2.
Now, I would imagine that these professional managers know a little bit more about football than posters on here, so I guess that means that FDM is not rated that highly.
The defence is the REAL problem, not the keeper. Butters may be a legend on this board but my 67 year old dad moves quicker than he does and when you're up against someone with any pace at all there will be problems. Sadly as the rest of the back four is so inexperienced we still need Guy's old head in there to tell them what to do and hope that Joel's pace will get him out of trouble.kinda lingers said:Not about mistakes - EVERY player makes them. It's all about the confidence in defence and they need it with the keeper.
Look at Joel a couple of times yesterday in the second half. Didn't seem to get a call from Hendo, didn't look confident with a back pass so put it out for a throw in. Just gave possession away in a dangerous area !
Our defence is young & inexperienced ( apart from Guy ! ). We need to get the confidence back.
Get it right at the back and then work on the rest.
Worth a try with FDM !

As far as Henderson is concerned, 3 times in the second half he gave a clear call to the defender - twice to Joel and once to the Joe O'Ceaurill (or whatever) - and each time they ignored him. The call was so clear I could hear it in row K.
The goal came yesterday because of poor defending, not because of the keeper, despite the moaning of the ignorant prats in C Block.
With apologies to Shakespeare, but a classic case of the empty vessel making the loudest sound.kinda lingers said:When Hendo's in goal our end ( H Block ) he's very quiet.
What a very stupid post. Communication is KEY for goalkeepers, nothing breeds more uncertainty than a quiet keeper.London Irish said:With apologies to Shakespeare, but a classic case of the empty vessel making the loudest sound.
A stupider post might confuse noise for communication.Silent Bob said:What a very stupid post. Communication is KEY for goalkeepers, nothing breeds more uncertainty than a quiet keeper.
