It is a non-sequitur that Lefties don't like winners.

I don't like Manchester United, but Sir Alex is a Life-long socialist, is he not, as was Bill Shankly, who won a few things in his lifetime.

And at which point does ridiculous wages prevent somebody being a socialist my friend ? Also i think youll concede the football league is hardly a socialist system ! maybe these people gave all their money away to a maoist guerilla unit ....or were they socialists "of the mind" ie -not socialists at all just football managers with egalitarian soundbites.

Depends how precise or absolute one's definition of socialist is, I suppose. Both would be "lefties".

But I would maintain that one can be both a leftie and successful, which was the point.

And there was I thinking the Football league was a socialist utopia, just slightly marred by the fact that some clubs are more equal than others.
