IF We Go Down...

...which players will leave? And how much do you think we would get for them?

Having just got in the Ireland Squad I would expect Henderson to go, Ckr as well, Frutos and probably Carole

Although IF we go down we MUST keep Gatting, he'll have a lot of joy in that division IMO :clap2:

I am sceptical we would get many offers matching our valuations to be honest, so I think we will continue to see plenty of those players, whatever tier we end up in.

i doubt CKR will go having just come up from league 2 to the championship. after not getting a regular starting place this season in the championship, league 1 i think will still be enough of a challenge for him.

I suspect the same about Henderson. Which is why we need to keep Kuipers, not force him out of the club and have no decent replacement like with Leon Knight.

Henderson said he wanted to be with us. You really think he would chuck away a 2 year contract?

Madness.

Fruity may attract attention along with Carole, CKR and Hammond but I think out of those 4, Fruity is the most likely to stay.

I hope I am right.

I also can't see Henderson leaving, if only because theres not really any club in a higher position that he could go to and get first team football. He may be as good as Shay Given (we'll see, if he gets to play), but with only one goalie on the pitch, its damn hard to break into the first team at any premiershit or championship club. And first team football is crucial to getting anywhere on the international team - the Star here had an interview with McShane where he said the best thing about being here was the first team football to impress Staunton with, for instance.

Were we to go down, I could see us keeping quite a few of our key players but I could see Carole and Frutos being the most likely to go. Henderson would stay as he wants first team football and he will get that wth us so he is unlikely to throw it away.

I can't see any leaving to be honest. All the big earners seem to be getting shipped out so not sure we will need to sell.

I have it on very good authority that Carole's agent is looking for a move to the premiership for him. It looks certain he will not be here next season.

Personally, I don't think it would be a great loss. And he sure as f*** ain't gonna get a move to the Premiership.

I think that may be a little optimistic, but seeing that Seb had a spell with West Ham and then trials with Soton before settling for us (probably cos it was the only offer he got) I would imagine that he would want to stay at championship level and don't expect him to drop to Div1 - other clubs will have noticed the skills he has shown and he will get offers.

Fruity may well go as well (both would be a shame:nono: ) but if we can keep the rest of the squad and add a creative midfielder and centre forward then we may just have a more enjoyable season next year.

Don't forget the play-off final will be a the new Wembley so that would be something to aim for

Henderson if he stays in the Republics squad for about £250k, showing a healty profit on our investment. Replace him with Ian Walker who will be on a free from Bolton at the end of the season and still lives locally.

Other than that it will e dependant on our finances which may suggest Carole, Frutos, Hinshlewood, Gatting.

Mc Shane will go back to united and not return unless we can find the money to buy him ASAP.(May)

That is the basic backbone of ouir team.

I would be very suprised to see Gatting go, he hasn't played many games and has no goals as yet. I also can't see all of Hinsh, Fruty and Carole going. McShane is never gonna sign for us if we go down. I think to say the backbone of our team is a bit strong. What about, El-Abd, Butters, Hammond.

If they ain't good enough to keep us up then why would any clubs in the Championship want them?

My source for this information is 100% reliable. His agent is trying to engineer a move to the prem, although I agree, it is very long shot.

No way Gatting will go. Who is going to want a youth team player who hasn't yet scored a senior goal?

CKR will stay. Hasn't yet proved himself.

Frutos could go, but not sure he will have done enough to impress anyone.

Carole is most likely to go.

Henderson will stay, but could go in a year if he maintains his form.

Hammond? If he continues to play as well as he did yesterday some bigger clubs could come calling.

El Abd? Ditto.

Pretty much agree with all of that except Hammond - he had one good game yesterday but for weeks everyone has been saying how poor he's been.

I think he would stay and hopefuuly prove to be an asset for us in Div 1
