No. It would be a disappointment but by no means a disaster. We can't compete in the first division anyway.

we are a few players short of the first division so yeah it wouldn't be a disaster , plus it would give some of the younger lads one more chance to crack a league before albion 'hit the big time'

It doesn't matter what division we are in for the first game at Falmer.

Of course it would be better to be in the frist, that's a given but as long as we do get Falmer i couldn't give a f*** where we are.

I think we're better off staying top half of Div 2 until we get a ground, we'll always be struggling in Div1 with a limited capacity, and more importantly a limited income and hideously high rent !

young leon has potential in the first, BUT we need a proven striker who WILL get goals every week. We need strong leader in the mould of Roy Keane! This would be a start to getting 1st div. team

The players feel the same way, otherwise wtf was that performance on Tuesday all about :)

Not many would be kept on for another season in Div 1 anyway, so it could be in their interests to stay down.

Is that too cynical ???

this team will start to split up and drift off. We will have falmer built and a new team built at the same time. When it is built we will milk this division and go to the 1st strong.

saying that, if we dont go up this season i am playing football next season on saturdays coz £450 for 2nd div with no stand is a bit silly.

We should definitely be aiming for the first. I don't think it would be better to stay in Division Two as we need to build a real fan base from supporters across Sussex to make Falmer a real success when we get it.

In the first, albeit it struggling for the next couple of years would be great. More exposure, building a fan base (particularly if we get more seats and if games are shown on screen in pubs like we were asked about last season), raking in the merchandising revenue we should be taking advantage of and it should set us up beautifully for a push for the Premiership once we get into Falmer.

Completely disagree with Yorkie and Zef on this one.

At the bottom of a higher division as compared with the top of a lower one is never conducive to getting where you want to be.

Looking ahead to when we have Falmer and money for the team, increased revenue etc... would you be happy sitting at the top of Div one most of the time or struggling from season to season in the Premiership?

Don't know about you but it's Premiership for me every time...

We are the best team in a division of relatively poor teams; so we should damn well win the thing. Why settle for also-ran status? Why settle for second best even? Second is for the likes of Reading. On March 2nd, when Brentford visit Withdean, we should be surging to another title. On that day we will exact revenge and show the Bees how to be champions.

OK so we go up and go back down again. I would rather us spend a couple of years in this division, get some good players (please?) and then be a force to be reckoned with in the first. I would like our first season to be like (dare I say it) Reading's.

I would rather us spend another year in this division and be a regular in the first then spend every other year in division 1 and 2

Good idea, but we're not going to get First Division players if we're knocking around in the second. Good players will be willing to come to lower First division clubs but second division - maybe not?

How many prem/first division quality players are going to be willing to come to second div clubs especially on a Bosman?
