I'm sure it'll be fine with Donald "I'll stop the [insert war here] war here in 24 hours" Trump at the helm(et).

The anti-war president wouldn't have any interest in invading another countries or annexing his neighbo

That's WW4 I think.

It is genuinely astonishing to think that only 12 months ago, if there was a WW3 it would have been blindingly obvious which countries would be on which side, and yet 12 months later nobody is quite sure. The world is changing so quickly at the moment.

As for the 'winners', my money would be on the Chinese. They seem to be the smartest out of all of them, and would likely sit back and let it play out and then take advantage once everybody else had blown each other to smithereens.
If everyone else has blown each other to smithereens, there may not be much left to take advantage of.

With any luck, someone will assassinate Trump and Putin and at least postpone the end of the world for a bit.

Many years ago I was on a list of I assume many hundreds who would each receive a letter at home from Whitehall marked MOD with an instruction to attend a site not to dissimilar to the one in the photo on a specific date and time when an alarm would sound I was then allowed to open a second letter which had a code number printed and a phone number I would then ring the number and give the code number at this point the alarm stop and I would leave and return to my normal duties. This would happen every quarter and was to test the nuclear attack warning I did this from the late 1970s until mid 1980s.
Other than these letters I had no communication with anyone and when they ceased I only knew as the letters stopped arriving
