If Slade doesn't get offered a decent contract and very soon he could easily go elsewhere. As far as Wise is concerned, in the doubtful event that the board would be stupid enough to appoint him it would make the situation with Wilkins and Adams pale into total insignificance.

I think it would be great for two reasons:

Firstly Wise is proven at this level, was a great player in his day and will have the ability to bring some great players in.

Secondly it will be well funny watching some of you spazzmos go into a right tailspin.

Plus if you do all stay true to your word and stop going it might be bearable going to watch again.

You won't have a club to support. :bigwave:

ps Russell Slade all-the-way for me (funnily enuff). Sort it out Bloom.

Why would it be more bearable to watch if large numbers of fans were staying away? More atmosphere in a half empty stadium? Or the excitement generated by having a manager and board that were out of step and at loggerheads with the fans?

I would stay away if Wise was involved with our club.....the board have already made some questionable decisions over the last year or so and appointing Wise would be the worst of them all....if we don't get Slade there will be trouble....mark my words.

Why do so many people have a problem with Wise as a manager, he has a proven track record, when ever I have seen him he is passionate and committed individual.

The outrage would be the board tampering again with a formula that is working, I may be wrong but it appears the less visual members of the board want so called big names.

It would make the board look a bit crass if they were to say thanks but no thanks to Russell. However we have a track record with treating managers poorly of late.

The history that comes with Wise is what i personally have a problem with. Right from the fact he attacks cab drivers to the supposedly meaningless fact that he has managed the Leeds scum.

Also It's the fact he would be replacing the hard working, likable character of Russel Slade who after only 13 games has stated he loves the club and wants to stay.

Slade deserves at least a season contract after the miracle he has worked with a hugely underperforming squad which lacked any confidence.

What message would that send to all those in the footballing community about the Club? Morals, principles etc? If we don't appoint Slade for what he's done and how the vast majority of supporters (can't speak for the players) feel about him, then the Board will look like a bunch of schisters and is in touch with the "pulse" of general feeling as Gordon Brown!

Let's not have a repeat of the Wilkins debacle and ensure stability from this point on, with a settled pre-season, fresh look at the squad and a decent preparation for the next campaign.

What bloody track record is that, then. Do enlighten me. He has a far longer disciplinary record, in and out of the game, than he does of success as a manager. Sort of person the game should be looking to lose, not unlike Mr Barton.
