It's laughable that he claims Lyon were lucky to qualify just because of a last minute goal conceded by Strassborg. He then claims Palace won and exciting FA cup when in fact their GK should have been sent off and they had only 21% possession!!! Of the two methods of qualification, Palace where by far and away the lucky ones.

He then claims everyone knows Beaky runs Palace yet he only has 25% voting rights, the same as Textor who is the largest shareholder!!
If Beaky "runs Palace" then this shambles is all down to him. He is going to get run out of town. :lolol:

Except we know he doesn't as Textor has admitted he had the choice to appoint Glasner at palace or at Lyon and it was Textor who decided he was going to palace. Hard to argue he doesn't have control really eh?

Apologies if it’s been asked/answered 100 times above - I’m sure it has - but would there be anything to some kind of solution which might involve delaying Palace playing in Europe for a year to give this dodgy geezer time to sort his shares out, thereby giving us a place in Eurofootball next year and them the year after?

Again sorry if I’m being dimwitted but I’m just thinking of solutions that might piss everyone off/make everyone happy equally. Obviously I’d prefer to see them slung out for good, then I’d laugh so hard that it would prompt another chunk of Birling Gap to fall into the sea. Cheats never prosper.

No. They will either be in or out this season and that's it.

I don't think any compromise is possible simply because every other club has done what they had to do by the time they had to do it, often at expense to the owners who will rightly be on the warpath if Palace are let off when they've all complied. There is no excuse Palace can have. They could have checked with UEFA if they felt there might be a risk, they could have dealt with it all months ago. It's hard to see it as anything but massive incompetence or a total lack of faith in their own players and manager that they might actually win something.

Has anything new happened in the last 30 pages or is it all just wishful thinking jibber jabber?
No - but we have had fun!
Isn’t European qualification via the FA Cup, solely to the Europa League?
Does it say anywhere in UEFA rules, if you are disqualified from aEL qualification for any reason, that you can then go into the lesser tournament?

If this were to happen, i hope our club would be threatening all sorts of legal action against UEFA.

And, that’s even without the Bronby situation.

It's fascinating to read that L'Equipe article of 6 June that while the Palace saga trundles on, Textor's Eagle Holdings group needs to raise money for Lyon before their hearing on 24th June with French football's financial watchdog DNCG.

Textor was planning to transfer 3 players (Jesus, Jair, Cuiabano) from fellow group company club Botofogo to...Nottingham Forest. The profits are controlled by Eagle Holdings as a group, not Botofogo.

Similarly, Forest's Marinakis and Textor have agreed deals to transfer 2 Forest players to Lyon (Danilo, Matt Turner), the pair having done business the previous summer when Forest transferred Mangala and Niakhate to Lyon.

Given Textor's stake in Lyon dwarfs his stake in Palace, and given Lyon's financing are in urgent state of repair, his top priority is to raise cash for Lyon.

This whole situation shines a light on multi-club ownership generally, because if Textor sells Brazilian talent to Forest he is helping to strengthen a divisional rival of Palace.

Imagine how Albion fans would feel if Hearts or USG had quality players and Tony Bloom was instrumental in selling them to Forest, a club who have leapfrogged us, taken a European spot that we were aiming for and - in the future - could lock up 7th spot and European qualification.
Is this deadline why we have to wait til the end of the month? If Lyon are kicked out it's an easy decision.

Maybe the real "Palace getting kicked out of Europe" was the friends we made along the way?

Surely winning the FA Cup is reward enough for Palace ?

Multi-club ownership shenanigans don't come into that.
Out of curiosity what are the cup rules around a PL side being drawn against a lower division club with which it shares some or all of its shareholders?

Presumably in this case Forest would be delighted to buy the guys from Botofogo, if that means cash ending up with Lyon - who thus avoid being kicked out of Europe. [And of course, if Lyon are in the Europa League it ensures the potential for Palace to be kicked out remains!]

Oh keep talking Chat GPT keep talking!
Grok, which apparently uses more real-time information (I have no idea) is even more optimistic:

As of June 10, 2025, Crystal Palace’s likelihood of playing in Europe next season is low, likely under 20% for the Europa League and under 10% for the Conference League, due to UEFA’s multi-club ownership rules and the prioritization of Lyon and Brondby. While Palace are actively engaging with UEFA to resolve the issue, their failure to address ownership conflicts before the March 1 deadline and external complaints from Nottingham Forest diminish their prospects. A final decision is expected by the end of June, and only a significant change, such as Textor selling his stake, could materially improve their chances.

Potential for Resolution: Palace’s ongoing efforts to demonstrate compliance (e.g., proving Textor’s limited influence or selling his shares) could improve their chances, but time is short, with a UEFA decision expected by late June 2025. If Textor successfully divests his stake to an independent party before a final ruling, the probability could increase, but no such deal has been confirmed.

Posts on X reflect pessimism among some Palace fans, with predictions of a ban leading to significant consequences like manager Oliver Glasner’s departure or player exits. However, these sentiments are speculative and not definitive evidence. The club remains optimistic about prevailing, as reported by sources like The Mirror, but UEFA’s strict enforcement of rules in similar cases (e.g., Manchester City and Manchester United’s blind trusts) suggests a tough road ahead.

Why a football club owner would want to own more than one club is beyond me, i’m so pleased our ownership doesn’t get involved with that sort of bollocks.
Quite right.

Tony Bloom, the renowned philanthropist, makes small minority investments in football clubs as a way to help them out by sharing some of his financial good fortune throughout the footballing world.

None of this Billy Big Bollocks stuff of buying up football clubs left, right and centre like a 7-year-old playing monopoly for the first time. No strategic joined-up thinking, just throwing cash all over the place with what I can only describe as gay abandon.
