10x salary for Death in Service benefit is not standard! 3x or 4x is, and there are loads of people who get no DiS. Are you sure it's 10x?

Yeah I know - I put standard in inverted commas because it's standard where I work, but I realise it's bizarrely high. I've never quite understood why the company does this as it makes people extremely valuable....dead!

A pension pot will be very low when young, but considerably higher at the top end of the age range.

I'm now in the position where my pension pot is higher than the equity on my house. If the average in the survey is right, there's going to be some very poor pensioners soon!
