He certainly made a big difference in the last dozen games of last season, when he played. We were comfy top six before he got fit and came back in. Shoot me down in flames if you must, but those are the facts. If that's anything to go by, we could be in big trouble.

Ok you asked for it. How many times must you look an utter fool on this subject? We actually only got into the top six from a much lower position after Vicente started to play, won us two games against Leeds and Pompey almost single handedly and a wonder performance from the man to beat Derby at home. But feel free to erase reality before the point in history to suit your argument.

As there are so many people in the know about the details of Vicente's contract could someone list in detail exactly what he is being paid? As it costs me nothing if he stays or goes and the club (who I accept only have a small portion of the facts unlike some on here) are happy for him to stay then I am willing to accept any performance as a bonus and a joy to behold. I am disappointed he hasn't been more involved but I will enjoy any contribution for Brighton from a player of Vicente's calibre.

He played well against Pompey and Derby I will give you that, Pompey were shite and we expect to beat Derby at home...And anyway, the bloke should look good with his pedigree. Fact is in the greater scheme of things, he has been a pain in the arse and a waste of space, more trouble than he is worth.

A pain in the arse? A waste of space? Says who?. If that was true the club would have got shot by now. You are so full of shit it's unreal.

I hope Vicente comes back, tears it up and leads us to the play offs, Wembley and the prem. But on all previous evidence, that is as likely as our signing of a striker not being....."complicated".

There's no doubting that Vicente's a magnificent player, however his wages could have been better spent elsewhere and this is more noticeable when he's not playing and when he does, his 'appeared in games won' stats aren't particularly good.

I reckon (completely guessing here) that BHA invoked his 2nd year 'gentleman's agreement' to force a fee from prospective buyers, however this backfired and we ended up with the same lump in the physio office costing lots of money.

I think (another opinion) there's only 2 reasons he's showing up against Newcastle. Firstly, to get in the shop window as others have pointed out. Lastly, a PR stunt to sell more tickets.

This is all my opinion, no fact and I can understand most people will disagree, it's just how I see the whole fiasco.

With his injury record, do you HONESTLY think we will get any kind of fee for him if that was the intention? And are you honestly saying Tony Bloom dictates to Gus who he picks ?

No one knows his wages or any idea on how these things work. We might just be paying £5k a week and then on appearances.

I love the way you say we might be paying £5k a week + add ons for apperences (that would mean since the start of August he has pocketed £100k + a bit more for his 5 mins against Cardiff and the Swindon game)....so not money wasted at all then lol............It's £8k a week by the way and probably more than double that if he actually plays. Good work if you can get it I say. Fair play to the bloke I say, while most of the fans struggle to make ends meet and have to make sacrifices to watch their football week in week out.

Got a source for £8k a week ? What has football wages got to do with the 'working man' ?

What has the word "working" got anything to do with a thread about Vicente lol. He is permanently on the sick.

Take it there is no source on 8k a week then?

No none at all, I just made it up.....On the other hand maybe I didn't. But either way I'm not going to betray a confidence on anything, in any walk of life. Let alone on here to a bunch of faceless made up names.

Ill take that as a no then!

Not sure if he can get us promoted by himself but I'd rather he played a part in trying to push us up the table than he getting paid for doing feck all!

IF he stays fit for decent spell, then he would be key. if he's available for say 3 months, so that Gus can build tactics and instructions around him and work on things in training, then he would undoubtedly take us onwards towards the promotion goal. being available every other game, coming on for 20 min is not much use beyond giving us as fans some moments of trickery and wonder, because the rest of the team wont connect with him. he's literally a league above everyone else and the only way to make it work is if they are all on the same page and understanding each other.
