Heartily agree, he was the unsung hero of the back to back championships, everyone raved about the goals and skill of Bobby Zamora but there was one constant in that side whose contribution was just as vital. It is rare that a player stays at a club as long as Michel has, he deserves fully a testimonial season for becoming somewhat iconic in Albion history, a living legend.

At least he has some serious competition this season. Lets hope that he keeps his pre-season form up. :)

Hopefully this should ensure at least one pre-season home game next year!

Michel Kuipers' testimonial season is officially underway:clap2:

Never, in my opinion, has a testimonial season been so richly deserved. Never has a player maintained such a remarkable standard of football over an entire decade. This year will be one of celebration, memories, and exhileration for all of us who appreciate the most iconic figure of our club. We will celebrate at the amazing success God has enjoyed between our sticks for so long. We will reminisce - all those saves, all that flair, all that personality, wrapped up in one lovable Dutchman. Michel is clearly a man for whom money is not the main focus; flair and flamboyance will be top of his list. I can't wait for tomorrow and the season ahead - the final step towards his domination of Britain: he's beaten Englishmen to the position, the Welshman ran scared as soon as Michel signed, he's totally embarrassed the Irishman into virtual retirement, and now it's just the Jocko for the set.

Michel, you're a hero to so many of us. 226 (or should that be 225.5) games of pure brilliance, and the promise many more to come. Enjoy your year:bowdown:

He is a true legend :yahoo:

Did anyone read the Argus after we beat Bradford 3-2 at Bradford??

something along the lines of

"Kuipers Showed his Joy at the end of the Game by doing a victory Jig" :afro::lolol:

So true, Such a legend. I rate only one man above him (Dick Knight) in terms of how he has shown his love for the club. Never leaving when goalkeeper after goalkeeper tried to replace him. The ups and downs of our Yo-yoing between Div 1 and Div 2 and then Chamionship to League one. Such a good man, and I hope he walks out for that first game against City at Falmer. Lets see him break another 225.5 games! :)

Ah I love a good love in. A man who has shown true commitment to the club, through the bad times and the good. He's seen many managers come and go, but he's shown true loyalty in a time when many players would have jumped ship. If any player deserves to see us through to Falmer, it's him.

Arise Sir Michel!
