Falmer is the main thing here.

We do not need to do anything this year.

if we lose every game here on in it doesn't matter.

( Am I being cinical / a realist/ or just someone who has paid a lot for a season ticket whithout realising we are dreadfully out of our depth)

as far as i'm concerned the final Falmer decision (god help us if it drags on AGAIN after the next inquiry) is the be all and end all, it wont matter two diddly squats if we get relegated, one way we will have a future stadium, the other we are almost dead and buried IMO

Falmer is the only thing i'm worried about

We've lost to 3 of the early season pacesetters, and got a deserved draw against Cov. We were never going to get anything at Wigan, they've spent millions on their squad. We put up a decent fight at Reading, and its only really the Plymouth match where we've let ourselves down badly (although they now look like they could be the surprise package of the season).

Get a grip. We're only 4 games in, and they have all been tough fixtures. Give the team a little more time to settle, let Leon get some more games under his belt, and we will start picking up points.

unfortunately though, the reason they are pacesetters is cos they beat us...it's a bit different after 15 games but at this stsge they are just any teams and statistically at least probably won't still be there in a few weeks time....

Wigan may be in the play off shake up, Coventry will be just above mid table, Plymouth will be in the bottom half. Just enjoy this season with the big boys. Until we get a stadium we are not a football club.

I take your point, but the fact remains those teams have got off to flyers, with 3 wins in their opening 4 games. We have played the teams who have hit the ground running this season, as its not just us who they've turned over.

And if its too early to be calling them pacesetters, then its also too early to be calling us dead certs for relegation.

Agree Easy, we deserved a point at reading IMO, deserved to loose against plymouth, by all accounts deserved the draw with coventry and Wigan have been touted as possible promotion contenders so it was always gonna be tough, the goal before half-time won it for them IMO.

Preston is a big game and hopefully we can get our first win.

You're both right. League tables published before about 7-8 games in are utterly meaningless.

So which one is it ? Did you 'tell us so' ?? or did you pay out 'a lot for a season ticket whithout realising we are dreadfully out of our depth' ??

I personally can't see how any one could not have believed we would be out of our depth. There is a big differance between strengthening a squad and increasing it and I'm not sure which one we have done yet.

I tend to agree with you GG, we seem to be in a sort of suspended animation, we are neither one thing or another, no purpose, no future and no credibility until at least we get the go ahead for Falmer... ( hope it comes soon)

Well we certainly haven't increased the squad, we released as many as we took on. We have strengthened the squad, the problem being, most of that them have been unfit or suspended. We will start winning soon, but this will be another very close run relegation fight.

so if we are 8 points adrift after 7 8 games thats meaningless?
we wnt down last time as we left our selves to much to do and we are doing it again

Wigan have beaten Millwall and West Ham away.

Plymouth have beaten Cardiff away and Sunderland at home.

Reading have beaten Sheffield Utd away.

These are the reasons that those three teams are the pacesetters - they have beaten teams which were amongst those expected to be pacesetters. The fact they have beaten us - guaranteed strugglers - is irrelevant. They've taken points off their rivals.

Even the one with Palace at the bottom of the Premiership?

Hmm, good point...no, that one is of course hugely significant.

I tend to agree that without Falmer we are nothing. The only thing that worries me is that if we go into freefall a lot of the fans who come once or twice a season will not come anymore. If we are to fill Falmer we are going to need them. If we are in Division 3 or whatever it is called (League Two), when we get Falmer, I cannot see more than about 10,000 coming after the first few matches. I'm certain I've had two flu bugs from watching the Albion, though one was at the away game at Brentford last year. I am getting fed up with sitting in an open athletics stadium, but will not stop going. If we don't progress, other people may not want to come anymore. Perhaps I'm being a bit gloomy here, but I am worried.

WAGN - We Are Going Nowhere until Falmer is agreed.

As soon as that is resolved we will have a future - nothing counts for nothing till then.

However I reckon we will say up.

Dave you were moaning like this last season and even during the playoffs.

I told you we could probably do it and we did.

So, I told you so as well.

:p :lolol:

Obviously we need Falmer, that is without question. I also think that we will settle down, loans will come in and we will make a fight of it this season but realistically I won't be too disappointed if we get relegated again...
or do you suggest we ring Bristol and say our penalty was all a big mistake and you should be here instead of us?
