There are loads of Welsh and Cardiff fans ringing up five live right now to complain about 'football violence' by the Italians.

Ironic or what.

Anyone whos ever been to Ninian Park would tell you this is a kind of natural justice.

It was f***ing bad.

A woman got knocked out by a seat, the italians were making themselves puke onto the crowds below. The Italian hooligans are easily up there if not worse than anyone else in Europe its just they don't travel away which apperently makes it okay.

I saw some of the coverage the Italian fans were above the Welsh fans and they got pelted!! The Welsh fans were seen pleading with the Police to do something. Apparenlty some fans tried to leave but were stopped.

Apparently pelting the opposition fans with seats, vomit, piss, bottles etc is ok. Celebrate a goal with the fans though (like at Sunderland) and you risk being kicked out.

Sounds fair to me ???

I can't stand Italian fans - if only because of their 'whiter-than-white' image the Juventus fans got over Heysel. They were just as responsible as the Liverpool fans (and the Belgian police). But just because it was Italians that died, the English got blamed.

Quote "They were just as responsible as the Liverpool fans"

That is an interesting view of what happened at Hysel. I watched the whole thing on Telly that night and under no circumstances whatsoever did the Italian fans cause any of that. As I recall it was "english " fans ( three of the arrests were army guys stationed in Germany who did not support Liverpool) who "charged " the smallish group of Italian fans behind the goal causing panic and a movement of them towards the front and the crush that developed killed the fans. Hardly their fault really was it?

I also understand that the demand for tickets outstripped supply and when supporters turned up at the ground the Belgium officials let them all in together hence the congregation of Italians behind the "away end " goal.

I suppose the Belgiums must take the blame really as they should have known that football fans cannot stand side by side like civilised people without trying to kill each other. Strange as that doesn't happen in any other sport isn't it!

Actually Dave,

reality is misd point between you and fatbadger,

there had been fighting between both sets of nutters for over a day.

The Juventus firms were out in force. One was arrested during the carnage with a loaded gun. I remember this cos the following day he was described as an innocent fan by the mirror, just that I noticed the photo showed him with the gun, which obviously the cops saw.

Juventus also charged. But the rest is history.

And it appears the Italians have woken up that there are nutters in Wales.

I seem to remember seeing pictures of a group called Blanc Et Nero (or somesuch) who were pictured with a big flag in the crowd. One of their number was aiming a pistol (albeit a starting pistol) into the Liverpool fans. Also spoke to a scouse guy years ago who said there was loads of really nasty intimidation beforehand from locals. In one incident he recounted to me, one of his mates was dragged by his scarf when grabbed by a scooter pillion rider outside a street cafe.

Wasn't all one way I don't believe.

Technical detail.

They obviously weren't on Saturday.

Lets face it, we all know the nutters across Europe are getting away with murder.

But the Authorities will always pick on the English.

Or media always goes for our supporters even when their innocent, the Govt shuns away and the FA does **** all.

To me its not hard, treat the supporters with due respect and consideration.

Treat the nutters with the respect of the legal system, don't send them back here we don't want them.

Every country has there nutters it just that they don't travel. The worst trouble I've seen abroad has got to be in Poland in 1997 when England won 2nil. Me personally was attacked three times by Polish hooligan / Polish police and I've never been involved with this shit in my 26 years of following Brighton and England.

Also remember when England played in Rome there was fighting in the ground which was caused by the Itallian Ultras attacking pockets of English fans. If I remember rightly these Ultras put up a very large banner next to the English pen saying f*** OF ENGLAND UP THE IRA. Which to me is like red rag to a bull but the local police just let it happen.

That's brilliant. Good to see they did a bit of research first into what was most likely to drive the knuckledragging NF boneheads mad. And it obviously had the desired effect. I bet their spelling was better too!
