If they're doing their best then we are in trouble.I was kind of hoping they were not doing their best, because that means they can get better.

But to be honest i can see players like McPhee,McCammon and Jones etc ever being good enough for this division.

O/K, Lets go and buy a lot of decent players then. Oh, we don't have any money do we? It's easy to be negative, let's here your solution to our problems then.

Give some of the other players a chance. The likes of Robinson (yes i know he's on loan),Jarret,Malongo,Nicolas,Watson etc.

Obviously not a set in stone solution, but its a start.

Oh yeah, try playing players in thier best positions may also help.

I dont thnik playing watson is gonna solve anything........

But why play reid right back yesterday and virgo midfield cos that just over complicates thing it should have been virgs and butters as centre backs with hinsh and mayo full backs then reid or hammond centre mid........

We were dire before the reshuffle but then everyone looked compltely lost out there.

the last 2 games (cannot comment on the plymouth one) have been lost due to tactics. if we had played with 3 central defenders from the start against wigan there was no way we would have allowed the space infront of our area that we allowed in the first twenty minutes, by which time the game was well lost and buried. against reading we relied on our midfield to bridge that gap but if mm had put virgo in the centre we would have been better balanced. i know injuries changed our formation but we have looked far better and gained some great points by playing this way. why change?

I don't think that's true. Having three defenders would certainly not have prevented the first Wigan goal, the fella scored a cracker from some distance, an extra player in midfield might have helped though.

As for the second goal; we had enough players back, we just allowed him too much space. The seme for their fourth.

If we'd played three at the back, then our midfield could have been swamped even more than it was. Wigan were a very good side, we gave them a two-goal start and we were always going to be struggling after that.

Let's look more positively: we matched the top of the league teamfor 86 minutes and we only lost to a team in the play-off zone by a disputed goal despite losing three players (and missing our most experienced midfielder).

It was Virgs at centre-back who lost Glen Little and allowed him to supply Forster for the goal.

Harding did the same thing at Millwall and got crucified.

Please, some consistency here. Virgs at the back is not the magic solution to our defensive problems, he is as prone to the odd error of inexperience as Harding.

Whereas up front, he looks to have the best goal-scoring shot out of Big Mac, Leon or McPhee.
