altough you may not agree with them-
at least the UKIP are telling it to us straight,

they make a very good point about employing women.

But is he telling it to us straight? His wife is apparently a leading physiothearpist - meaning she was probably in work for most of her life, meaning not only is he a sexist halfwit, he is also talking complete nonsense when it comes to his own personal life - his bigoted comments have no connection to reality - even his own reality!

Or is he just a frustrated man who has always hated the idea of his wife having a job, but is too much of a wimp to say so to her face?

eh? Did he or did he not make those daft comments, with his very own mouth Looney? Or did the Socialist Worker party construct a stepford wives type robot to stick his foot in it? The right never look more stupid when they're making up daft excuses for (or ignoring) their own mistakes.

It is infact, all you get from Righties these days...:p

I'm no pinky as such, just beleive that representatives should at least make an effort not to come accross at f*ckwits.....

Here is a little of what he said:

UKIP MEP in row over working women

Godfrey Bloom: 'I am going to promote men's rights'
A Euro MP for the UK Independence Party has sparked controversy hours into his first day in the Strasbourg parliament.
Godfrey Bloom was given a seat on the European Parliament's women's rights committee on Tuesday.

But he told the media: "No self-respecting small businessman with a brain in the right place would ever employ a lady of child-bearing age."

A range of fellow politicians were outraged, saying his views were terrifying and outrageous.

Mr Bloom, an investment fund manager from York, told journalists he wanted to deal with women's issues because: "I just don't think they clean behind the fridge enough".

"I am here to represent Yorkshire women who always have dinner on the table when you get home. I am going to promote men's rights," he added.

If you think about it, what on earth are a load of idiots (MEPs) doing rambling on about womens (or black, gay etc. etc.) rights. Shouldn't all humans have the same rights? This guy was just saying what he wanted which is actually quite refreshing for a politician.

Challenge for all the right-on, Gaurdian reeding, feeble minded lefties - name one left wing politician who has not be shown to be a liar and a hypocrite. Bet you can't.

What the UKIP MEP said is actually factually correct .... whether it is morally correct or very palitable is another thing entirely.

As a member of the UKIP I'm saddened that he could not have put the statement a little more diplomatically but I'm certainly not ashamed of supporting the party or it's principle aim of pulling out of the EU because of it.

Of course those who think I should dis-associate myself from the party of this rash statement have probably forgotten the disgusting, shameful and downright dangerous statements from Labour Party members such as George Galloway, Peter Mandleson and the woman who suggested the 11th of September would be a good day to buy bad news.

If you really believe the UKIP is a flash in the pan or a tin-pot party why are you so obsessed with drawing attention to our errors - just don't give us the publicity ! Obviously that would turn the spotlight on the inept and corrupt Labour Government and we couldn't have that now could we !!!!!

Surely the UKIP having members sitting in the European Parliament is a contradiction in any case. If they are so against Brussels why are they being employed by it?

A better statement would be to take the Sinn Fein approach to Westminster and not take their seats (also they would do a lot less damage to the rest of us).
How else will they expose the crap that goe's on in Brussells.

so its factually correct that all women don't clean behind the fridge?

why don't you stop whinging and talking rubbish. if a labour mep/mp ANY sodding mp had said something so bloody stupid in any public capacity we'd ALL be talking about it and we'd ALL be slagging him/her off.

Have to admit it does make me laugh to read all this though...standard right winger's responses to any kind of criticism

1. Chuck in the words 'Politically Correct'. This is ABSOLUTELY necessary. Will mean any fool will automatically believe your side of the story.
2. Start crying about other people who have done bad stuff! A prominent lefty would be good.
3. Bit of mud slinging, words like Pinko, lefty, commie, Guardian reader..... check Richard Littlejohn's articles if you need some help
4. A good one is to resort to the 'oooooooh listen to him' playground tactic...implying that the person is 'over educated' and therefore not one of the boys like yourself.
5. If you really really have been shown up though, go with the, 'well lets not dwell on it we have to move on' head in the sand routine. That works a treat.

Alternatively, in a case such as this you could just say 'This twat has made us look like a bunch of amateurs from the last century....bum.'

Problem with UKIP is that they ask the right questions, but don't have any answers apart from NIMBYISM.

Their views are identical to those of the anti-Falmer brigade

If they are so against Brussels why are they being employed by it?

I think there are 72,000 reasons why they do so ... and a few other perks.

I do feel ashamed that I went to school with someone who became such a far-right wing nutter. Or perhaps, IAN, you were one at school at just kept it quiet?

The point the UKIP MEP bloke made about employing women of child-bearing age in small businesses was complete and utter sexist bullshit. The bloke is a complete wanker. If we were to follow his lead, no women between the ages of 16 and 50 would be allowed a job in small business. What then would be the effect on small business, or the economy as a whole, if almost half of the population was ineligible to work for them?

That point being made has nothing to do with UKIP wanting out of Europe, it has everything to do with the man (or the entire party if he believes he is representing them) being a mysoginistic tosser, and to concur with it is absolutely f***ing shameful.
