Anyone read this?
Is it any good?
Don't often get new newspapers trying to break into the market.
Is it anything to do with the Independent?

It's probably the ideal newspaper for commuting. I sit on the train for an hour every morning; I used to read the times, but found that I could only get through a small part of it. It's easier to get through more of the i and at 80p cheaper it feels better value for money. I like the matrix they do for each area, providing newsbites for all the key stories.

It does seem to cater for the generation with the attention span of a goldfish with ADD though!

I like it, the content and structure is pretty good and it's ideal for people that just don't have time to read a proper newspaper.

It's okay. To be honest, living in London I'm not convinced it's much better than the Standard, which is not only free but much easier to just grab from someone handing out than going to buy. I also find that when I read "i" I wish that I'd just paid a pound for the real thing - because all the stuff in it is either cherry picked or abridged from the Independent. I'm certainly not averse to the idea of buying a decent newspaper for 20p though!

I would agree with this - I pick it up every time I go into the supermarket on the way to work (2-3 times a week). It has the unusual ability to give me a good summary of the day's news in my 30 minute lunch break. As has already been mentioned, the 'matrix' for each section is a genius idea. I also like the fact that there is minimal opinion in the articles and the opinion sections are actually labelled up as 'opinion', as I hate having papers force their editor/owner's political beliefs down my throat.

Think of it as an educated paper for thick people
Which is probably why I like it

Not Luton! Thank God
It's ok and for 20p its good value. Its based on the Independent so it's pretty left leaning but it does have an annoying habbit of not actually telling you what the story is, just telling you all the media furore about it.

Good point. I imagine that Sun readers, are migrating to the i, in their droves.

Spot on - I would have bought the full verison but couldn't say indypendant let alone ask for it. But now being called 'i' leaves me with no embarrassment

It's not bad and it's pretty innovative. It's certainly interesting from an industry point of view.

I'd like to see how it's doing in a few months and I'm still picking it up from time to time. The Indy had to do something though, it was dying on it's feet outside of the M5.
