Working at Southampton Football Club today doing search training, what a laugh. Would you believe that not everyone identified the f***ing great starting pistol wedged in the back of my trousers? They got better though. Main problem is that they are too soft - they don't like getting stuck in a carrying out a firm search - and I am partial to a firm search!
And - what lovely people their stewards are, really good ambassadors for the club. Other teams could learn a lot from them....they came top of a poll for the best stewards for last year and the 60 we worked with today thoroughly deserved it.
St Mary's has a cracking training regime for Stewards - NVQ2 plus other specialist training course, progression through a career, regular training, etc. They train Portsmouth stewards as well (but that one is kept bloody quiet!)
Even better, they lost 4-2 to Reading.
