I let a cat sit on my lap yesterday and it purred while I was stroking it.
As soon as I got a little uncomfortable and moved in the chair, it lashed out at me like lightning and tried scratching my arm.
I felt like going to get my dog, shut the door and watch the scrawny hairball bounce off the walls and windows for a while - that would give it's claws something useful to do as it hung from the drapes.
