Myself and Watsongooal went to see the New Zealand Knights v Queensland Roar in the newly formed A-league on Sunday (the one that Dwight Yorke plays for Sydney in.) We decided that as we obviously couldn't make the Palace game in the week, we would treat this as our biggest day out at football this season.
Several bottles of wine, a couple of crates of lager and a bottle of whisky later, we discovered that the kind of behaviour that is acceptable (sometimes!) in a sporting ground in the UK, is not accepted in this lovely country.
We both received (unjustly) two-year banning orders from the mighty New Zealand Knights' ground. I've been going to the Albion for fifteen years and have never been in trouble- one game in new Zealand and I'm banned.
Very special praise must go to Watsongooal who was wearing a St Georges flag (signed by the Lions and All Blacks squad) and a bikini. Yes, a bikini. Photos could be posted on request.
