The official sites interview with McGhee makes it sound like Oatway will be replaced with a midfielder.

I think he might go with Harding. That way Mayo has the chance to prove the left back position should be his and Harding can be given go in his prefered position.

Has Mayo done anything pre-season to suggest he deserves a starting place? Serious question as I didn't see any pre-season games and the last time I saw him play he was slow and overweight

I was under the impression he had slimmed down after his pie eating of last season

But he's always going to be slow

Worth a starting role tonight? Can't do us any harm having an experienced player back

Argus states that Molango will continue up front on his own. I really think this is a consequence of Oatway's injury, McGhee has to pack the midfield now without our best ball-winner, otherwise he may have risked 4-4-2.

I hope Hinshelwood gets the nod though, he deserves it a little more than Kerry. Will groan a bit if it is Harding in midfield, he is a good defender but not cut out for anything more than that.

I see they are still trying to make out it was an attack-sounding 4-3-3 when it was actually a blatant 4-5-1 at Reading. We shouldn't be stringing 5 across the midfield at home to Plymouth.

Is a point on the board better than risking two straight defeats, negative I know but given our frailty last time around safety first might be the best option. Coventry looked awesome against Sunderland on the highlights shown on the championship, so I wouldn't expect too much from saturday's game either :(

We should if its our best option....now we know you want your hero Robinson to play, but i really feel at the moment he is best used as a sub for half an hour or so if needed.

Keep the faith MM knows what hes doing.

4-5-1 doesn't have to be a defencive formation.

Reading used it in their first season at this level to tremendous success.

I think Mayo's expirience is something we need and if he moves Harding it doesn't come across that he's been dropped.

I can't see McGhee droping Harding because it won't do his confidence any good.

I would not be gutted to see Mayo at left back and Hinsh at right back as our full backs did not look all that comfortable on Saturday. However I suspect they will be give a couple more games before major changes are made.

I think tonight is a 6 pointer and a must win. Coventry will be tough. We need to get some early confidence and belief.

Well, I'll be happy with a bore draw. Our defence worried me on Saturday, too many sloppy mistakes, and I want to see some improvement. We will always get goals when Leon comes back but it's our defence that is going to keep us in this division.

I would take a draw as at least it's something but I really think a win tonight is very very important.

So where is our first league win going to come from, if not this evening or Saturday? Wigan away? Leicester away?

Possibly not until Leon and Chippy are back and I agree it's worrying, but a draw will give us something to build on and ease our way into a much better quality of football than we are used to. A few drab draws is preferable to 3 or 4 thumpings as we search desperately for that 1st win. Of course I am hoping we run out winners tonight but realistically I won't be too upset with a draw. Far too early in the season to be throwing caution to the wind and talking about 6 pointers imo.

To early to talk about it deffinatly but I'm convinced Plymouth will struggle this season and we can't lose to the teams down the bottom like we did last time.

true and that is where we lost out, if we beat cov or stoke or walsall both times we would have stayed up. so its vital we beat the teams that are likely to be in the bottom 6 this time round, as before we only beat bradford i think, albeit twice, but we didnt beat anyone else in the bottom 6, and this is a good opportunity with plymouth missing a couple of key players.

I agree, the start of this season was always going to be difficult. It's not a big problem if we don't win in the first month as long as we are laying good foundations for when we get our best players back.
