As I understand it if Chelsea win the Conference League and fail to qualify for the Champions League then there would be an extra Europa League spot and no Conference League spot. That would mean 6th and 7th plus the FA Cup winners would get Europa League football next season.

If Chelsea win the conference and qualify for the Champions League then 6th and the FA Cup winners get Europa League and 7th gets Conference League.

There appears to be some weird anomaly with the Conference League that I don’t quite understand as it doesn’t apply to the winners of Europa League or Champions League if they also qualify through the league.

Given the current drought, we're short of straw to cling on to, get over it, our home form against the now bottom three cost us .

I believe there's 2 different points here.
Yes, off the pitch with our stadium, infrastructure and owner, we'd rather be us.
However, on the pitch Palace have got it over the line.
What's more important? There's an argument for both.

We've lost successive SFs and before that blew the Championship trophy in the last 3 games.
Eventually, given enough years, we'll win something.
But how many of us will be around to see it is another matter.
It's all about taking the chance when it's there.

All good and perfectly put....but I'd still rather be us, than them. Always.

Good point. I wasn't considering that. I just meant that, as awful as it is to witness today, it doesn't damage our prospects for the summer, next season or longer term. We've just got to do something even better.
