I thought they were broke and about £20m in debt? So how can they afford £1.2m for Charlie Austin (bid value)?

Beggars belief that these bankrupt clubs are still allowed to transfer buy.
Rules should changed.

How can Portsmouth afford players like Liam Lawrence. Like the peace of God, the rules of football league transfers pass all understanding

Backed 'em for promotion today @ 14/1

6 points off a play-off place, with Fryatt,Solano,Bullard,Barmby,McLean and of course (legend) McShane in the ranks, look a solid bet

At least they're not in administration and trampling all over £100 million worth of creditors while continuing to sign extravagantly paid players though.
