Chris Hughton savoured Albion’s most convincing win in his time as manager.
But he felt his side could have scored more goals.
The Seagulls beat Brentford 3-0 at the Amex, their third victory on the spin but their first this season by more than a single-goal margin.
Asked if it was their best display of the campaign so far, Hughton said: “I thought early in the season we had some very good performances.
“But we got the three goals, which generally we haven’t been able to do.
“There have been some good performances but that would be right up there.”
He added: “We kept a clean sheet and I enjoyed that – but I enjoyed the goals more.”
Anthony Knockaert and Tomer Hemed put Albion 2-0 up by half-time.
Jamie Murphy added a very late third on a counter raid.
“There were three or four occasions when we broke their line and, if the ball had been better, we could have been right through.
Anthony Knockaert goes on a run
“Probably that was the only minor disappointment, that I thought it could have been more.”
Hughton said Beram Kayal’s exit during the second half was due to an ongoing and minor groin problem.
