Under the old rule, the player would have been given offside when Sodje headed the ball forward as he would have deemed as being interfering with play. Under the new rule he was not deemed to be interfering with play as he didn't touch the ball until after the Lincoln defender touched it.

It was ridiculous, unless CAFC Matt you think the new rule is good in which case you are mad.

By the new and old rule it was a goal. When the initial header was made nothing matters BUT the header by which he gets the ball COMES OFF A DEFENDER SO IT STANDS!!!!

Have a look at the replay if you don't believe me.

Bloody good spot by the ref and has anyone told the goalkeepr to play to the whistle???

Disagree. Under the old rule it would have been offside when Sodje headed the ball forward. It would have been given offside BEFORE the Lincoln defender headed it.
