Anyone else got one of these? Brilliant little handset picked up mine the other day in exchange for my 3gs. Very affordable as well when opposed to some of the ridiculously priced smartphones out there at the moment.

if its HALF as good as the HTC desire, it'll be excellent.

Hasn't let me down yet, just make sure you get an internet tariff to get the most out of it. I switched to this from a 3gs and haven't regretted it one bit

I've got one and it's cracking. Does everything very well and tonnes of good free apps out there to put on (most of mine are google based e.g. satnav as they're the ones I need at the mo). Got it free as an upgrade on vfone, on £15 a month, 300 mins unltd texts and 500mb internet (of which I probably use 350mb a month). I'd push virgin to give you a better deal as there are some very competitive deals out there (go to Find And Compare The Best Mobile Phone Contract Deals | MobilePhoneChecker.co.uk for comparisons).

it is more than half as good as the desire, only difference being the screen res and slightly (only slightly) slower processing speeds. And I'm not an anti apple person as this is being written on a Mac, but having had this I couldn't justify the spend on an Iphone (or an Iphone tarrif).

Many thanks - very helpful.

For the £20 a month there's unlimited web access. (For £15 a month it's 500MB) but on the £15 a month you have to pay £99 for the phone.

Just got one of these, lovely bit of kit. Its not quite as immediately straightforward to use as the iPhone, but now I'm getting to grips with it, I love it. Especially loving the predictive texting, which is an absolute breeze to use, and the free satnav was an unexpected bonus. The built-in FM radio is a massive plus as well, I've been itching for a mobile device with this so I can listen to the commentry.

Anyone know any decent apps to download ? Not really researched it much yet as I've just been getting used to using it, but the BBC football scores app is excellent.

Android 2.1 (with HTC Sense, whatever that is)

Sense is the HTC Custom Interface

I'm going to check the specs. The Desire  and its hench processor are a beaut but at 400 quid, its a bitch to buy...

I'm looking at the Samsung Galaxy Portal as a good smart phone too, cheap at 200 quid sim free.

I'm still on the Hero - and that's excellent. The mind boggles as to how good Wildfire must be

I didn't want to be lashing out £30-£35 a month on an iPhone, or any other smartphone for that matter.. I've already got an iPod Touch anyway, which I used all the time. This was £20 a month on Orange, phone was free. Unlimited texts, 500mb a month internet and 100 minutes (which I'll never use). Does me just right.
