Extremely sad that democracy is not allowed to take place.

Why all the hysteria?

somewhat saddened as I don't believe in an eye for an eye, his downfall should have been at the polls....

and quite possibly following his death would have been elevated to some kind of matyr/hero which would have been impossible to understand...

Sad. No human deserves to loose his life over his political beliefs.

Even Hitler should have been fairly trialed and sentanced accordingly. Not killed. (and yes I know he shot himself)

On the other hand, I think Bush is a nasty piece of work and I don't feel safe with him being in power of the worlds most powerful country.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
My initial reaction would be glee.
Then i'd be terrified about the ramifications of his execution. The sort of revenge that would be exacted. The increased paranoia.

But i'd still smile a little.

Bush's first term in the White House had nothing to do with democracy, and as someone who was living in Washington at the time of his 'election' believe me Yorkie it was a complete scandal that that incompetent fool was ever allowed to cheat his way into the White House. The fact that he has managed to stay there for a second terms IS worthy of hysteria I'm afraid.

Even if you privately admitted you wouldn't be quite as upset to see Bush shot as John Lennon, it wouldn't do any good. The administration would probably get even more gung-ho in response to the outrage, and we'd all be even more f****d. I can't believe he won, it's truly staggering.

Option 1 says "Killing the worlds most dangerous man"!!!!! I hope your joking. He may be the worlds most powerful but he certainly isnt the worlds dangerous.

BTW you need a "none of the above" option here.

I really cannot see it.

There again this is Nsc where everything is widely exaggerated and nothing is grey only extremes of black and white.

Yorkie, Bush is deeply, deeply unpopular - even hated in the way Thatcher was - with those in the States who didn't vote for him. That is not always the case.

And in Europe, he is fast becoming the most reviled politician in living memory, even among some conservatives. His attitude towards the wider world and the UN is disgusting.

It's not a fluke, and it is democracy in action. He got more than 50 per cent of the vote for the first time since 1988. But it is scary, and you do wonder what goes on in the heads of so many Septics.

It's the white, NASCAR-loving, god-fearing mid-states good ole boyz who have no concept of a world outside of the USA that got him there and have kept him there. Most of them would have guessed that Bagdhad was the capital of Paris (yes Paris, not France) before 9/11 and they're all voting for Bush because they like the sound of 'Homeland Security' but they don't have a clue what it means. Just so long as Jimmy-bob and Daisy-Joe can be safe drivin' to the local grocery and gun store in their pick-up without fear of being killed by some rag-head you can be sure that Bush'll be getting their vote.
