Actually I've never known NSC more united than it has been over the last few months. There was near-universal belief that Hyypia had to go, but that the mess wasn't totally his fault and changes behind the scenes were needed too. Granted there were a few lunatics at both ends of the spectrum; some said that 'Barber is the new Bellotti and the club is heading back to the Archer era', and a few others took the opposite view along the lines of: 'Everything is fine, don't be so negative, you don't know what Burke does so how can you criticise him?' Apart from those extremes I've been quite surprised at the level of broad agreement.NSC is no more likely to become a tranquil garden than I am to become a Yeoman Warder.
Well, there'll be the taking-credit-for-something-you-didn't do phase.
There'll be a fight for priority, with bounced threads. to prove who saw it coming first.
There'll be an almighty flap over the new appointment -- or lack of one. God help NSC if Jones is held on.
And when March comes the searching-for-new scapegoats phase will begin.
