I think the govt should subsidise my gym membership and pay for my contact lenses so that i can ogle the fit birds!:p

Alternatively how about a 'Battle Royale' game with just fat kids as the players! Marvellous scenes:clap2: :p

That's hardly enough evidence to point to widespread negation of parental responsibility though, is it?

Sure there will be some families who are like that, but the majority of Britons buy cheap packaged food from the supermarkets for meals rather than each out every night. Being cheap, the food tends to contain a high fat content in order to bulk it out.

Exercise is still the most important factor though.

Spot on Josky.

It's not just eating out at McDonalds etc. that causes the problems, it's what parents allow their children to eat at home or what they cook them. Too much processed food, such as Pizzas, Chicken Nuggets, oven chips etc. It's all too easy for the parents these days, and as a society we are so driven for materialistic items, we all work a lot more than the past, so have less time for family life.
One knock-on effect of this is less time to cook proper, healthy food. Another, is time to spend with the children to bring them up correctly to respect others, teaching manners, etc.

Who's to blame, maybe in a way we all are ????

Educate parents more.

It isn't the governments or McDonalds fault that kids ar fat. The parents are the ones than feed them. If they are educated in the ways of healthy eating and regualr exercise then there would be no problem innit.

99% of time, show me a fat kid, and I'll show you at least one fat parent. And all this "Oh I don't have time to cook proper food" is crap. Both Mrs Pasty and I work 9-5 mon-fri and we cook proper food at least 6 nights a week. And we ensure almost every meal has at least two vegetables involved. Guess what? Our kid is not fat! And yes, she does go to MacDonalds every now and again as a treat.

If "Britain" stopped drinking alcohol then you'd go a long way to solving the problem. As a not quite as fat bastard as I used to be (lost about 2½ stone last year and about another stone this year) I put most of the excess weight down to lager. Taking a month off the lager is bloody hard but is a good way to guarantee to lose weight. Exercise helps too which is where regular visits to the golf course comes in handy....as long as the 19th is avoided.
