One day you might discover that baseball is a fine game-far better than cricket could ever dream of being. All it needs is the blinkers being removed...not all things/sports American/North American are bad/rubbish/inferior. Being so insular is very unhealthy.
I'd quite happily be insular when it comes to just about the world's most insular society. Cricket rocks - and the fact that Americans can't understand only makes me happier.

Imagine one match of one of your favourite sports going on for five consecutive days. I don't have to - it does. If it wasn't for the physical exertion, wouldn't you want to watch the Albion for five consecutive days in the sunshine, drinking beer and talking bollocks. Marvellous scenes.

The fans are so amazed if someone manages to hit the ball properly, and I can't imagine how they can all cope to watch it for over two hours.

I'm amazed when somebody hits the ball properly...it's pretty difficult having a smallish ball hurled at you at 95mph whilst trying to hit it with a ROUND bat whilst it's moving all over the place in .265 seconds or whatever the exact timing is..

Try it one day...it's a darn sight more difficult than hitting a cricket ball with a f**king great paddle of a bat.

As for not sure how they cope with watching it for 2 hours-it's quite easy once you understand the nuances of the game. Watch it with someone who knows what's going on, have them explain exactly what is going on out there (it's not just a matter of pitcher to batter-way more complex than that). You never know, once you understand the game you might like it. I hated it too until I was taught what the game was all about.

I did try it a couple of days later on Coney Island. Not exactly that tricky - I even turned the machine up a couple of levels, and managed to hit most them.

It also surprises me how fat and overweight these baseball players are. I saw some team playing on C5 last week, and they all looked like they had just come from their day-job at Taco Bell!
