How the f*** do you make a baked potato?

f***'S SAKE. I've had a potato in the oven for an HOUR now and it's STILL not cooked. The oven's on HIGH so I don't know what the problem is.

I haven't got any FOIL but did PRICK it a bit with a FORK.

If it takes any longer then I'm going to have EATEN all the FILLING (prawn COCKtail) and will have to eat it on it's OWN.

:( :( :( :( :( :(

You should put a skewer through the potato, halves the cooking time.

You have to cook it SLOWLY at a low heat
I'm eating one now that's been in the oven all afternoon

aren't you supposed to wrap it in foil?

I do 7 mins in the microwave so it goes soft then 30 mins in the oven to get it brown and crispy.

High heat is no good Steven :dunce: :lolol:

10 -15 mins in the microwave on full depending on size (pierce it first)

30 mins in the oven at 200 degrees C

Are you mad ?????

Try 5 Mins on full power in a microwave and turn it over and repeat. Make sure you punture it liberally with a fork.

In an oven, Gas 8 (220 F electric) for 40 minutes.

This is MY usual method with baked potatos.

1. Boil a saucepan of water and drop a knob (snigger) of butter in it.

2. Drop large potato in its skin into the boiling water, and leave to simmer for 12 minutes.

3. Remove potato (careful, fingers), cut a deep cross in the top, roll it in some cooking oil, and put it on a tray in the top of the oven on gas mark 6 for 35 minutes (this is when you prepare your filling).

4. Remove potato from oven, open it out from the cross you cut earlier, and insert filling (baked beans is acceptable and recommended).

5. Throw a bit of a strop and sling the whole lot in the bin cos its stil rock hard in the middle. Have a Pot Noodle instead.

Gutted. It was meant to be a nice, fluffy jacket potato with prawn cocktail filling and crispy salad with French dressing.

I've now chopped up the potato in chip-like shapes, eaten the prawn cocktail out of the tub and picked at most of the salad.

I need a BIRD. :(
