Fair play! One of the trainspotters must have copied it out and put it on the mailing list.

I put it on the mailing list - with a very clear title...

Re: [Seagulls] Albion finance - posted by Bugs Hill on NSC 5/5/06

because I thought it was particularly well written and thought provoking and the sort of thing that listees like to see.

Perry has not put a lot of cash in

Ne, he hasn't.

Yet he seems likely to make shiteloads for McCalpine when Falmer is done and dusted.

Hmmm???

Yes it is. I hope you're not TOO offended that I called you a trainspotter. I like trains myself.

Hardly - the commentary is simply stating the worst case scenario....

I still haven't an answer to my question - who wrote those comments to the figures? Was it Bugs Hill and what position does he hold in order to accurately comment?

Fair enough, but not lets hope the worse case scenario doesnt get any worse. I think I'll still have a :drink: though !

Some clarity and transparency from the club would be nice, but not likely given the club's history.

So whats the clubs balance? -11,885,386? How can we operate when we're in such debt? How long 'till we could go into admin?? Presumably the directors are not after their loans and the banks have monthyl repayments set out over a long period of time.

5. Other Loans £2,681k - This is perhaps the most concerning given events of the last few days. There is no indication of who has loaned this money and under what terms the loan has been placed. It isn't the directors; those are shown separately, and it isn't a bank loan - that is also shown separately. From the accounts most of this loan is shown as payable within 12 months and very little interest has been paid in the year. It is therefore reasonable to assume that this is a short term, unsecured, interest-free loan from an individual, or individuals. A fall-out with somebody who has already loaned money to the club, and could threaten to demand repayment, is potentially far more damaging than a fall-out with a potential new investor.

This was the "new" bit of analysis that I thought was interesting. This to me points to the emergence of a new power over the club beyond the realm of the current directors. Something that we should all be keeping a close eye on.

As for the rest, it surely can't be of shock to anyone awake over the last years that we carry a lot of short-term debt and sail close to the wind when it comes to finding money to pay bills. Can't see the need to be any more worried about this than the usual level of worry we've always had about this over the past few years :D

The press release said: 'operating losses decreased to £976,000'.

Where do we think we are now? Presumably the Virgo/Harding money and reduced Falmer costs? mean we're still in the black?

I'm waiting for Bens Grandad to pipe up with his usual fairy tail of new investors.
