BBC Southern Counties Radio will be looking to read out fans' pre-match and post match thoughts every week - where we plan to post a thread before and after each match once the season gets going.

Please answer the following for use before and after the match this weekend:-

"How much sympathy do you have for Joel Lynch's transfer request?"

More disappointed than unsympathetic.

I have a fair amount of sympathy. He is a young player starting out a career in professional football. He wants to be playing week in/week out in order to further his career. When he first broke into the first team he was very honest about the fact that he would one day like to play at a higher level, perhaps even in the Premiership.

However, whilst I am sympathetic to his request I honestly believe that in the long-term he will have a better carer if he knuckles down and tries to stake a claim for a starting place in Micky Adam's line-up. After all, Hawkins will not be around forever.

The players get booed when they dont play well, but are talented - which is Lynch

Players get worshipped when they are rubbish but they try hard - which isnt Lynch

Its a tough one to call, he doesnt want to be here, so sympathy could be low.

I just hope that we give a MASSIVE cheer during the unscheduled drinks break - I like that I do

No sympathy. We have a squad for a reason. Results are good so he watches from the side. When he gets his chance, its up to him to seize the opportunity and hold down the place.

he should get the chance to prove himself to adams this week as hawkins and el abd miss out throught injury. if he tries hard and plays well then still gets dropped afterthat then i will have sympathy. but at the moment after our undefeated start to the season, im afraid i have none for him at the moment. 3 games in does seem a little early to be chucking in a transfer request. but then again with the transfer deadline looming then maybe he has to take steps.
so in this case i would say the transfer deadline is a bit too early in the season

Being early season no sympathy at all, if overlooked later on then fair comment

No sympathy. He is a professional footballer, out of the 1st team. He needs to keep his head down and work hard for his place. Healthy competition for places is good IMHO. The club rejecting his transfer request, shows that he has some part to play. Get on with it Joel and work hard for your reward.

Colchester United defender Chris Coyne expects to have to fight for his place in the starting line-up.

The club captain, 29, returned to the team against Ipswich in the Carling Cup, having been on the bench for much of the start to the season.

He told BBC Essex: "It would be unjust for me to say I warrant a spot.

"I've got to earn it like everyone else and I'm going to keep working my socks off to make sure I can cement a place in the side."

He added: "It just shows you the strength in depth that the manager's brought into the side.

"I was pleased to get a run-out, because I'm not one for sitting on the bench, I hate it and try to kick every ball for the lads."

His agent, former Albion LEGEND, Peter Smith, claims to know nothing about it..

No sympathy here , probably been listening to his agent and slapped in a transfer request before the window closes to test the waters. Other clubs will now be aware that he wants to move on and if he regains a place in the squad will he be playing for the benefit of the Albion or just thinking about himself come January ?

Another 'no sympathy' vote here. Ok, he's not in the squad at the moment, but there will be injuries, suspensions, loss of form, etc which is why we have a squad and not just 16 players.

Adams has always worked on a 'keep the shirt' basis. When Lynch gets his chance (which he will) it will be up to him to make himself indispensible. If he gets in, plays a blinder and THEN gets dropped, then he'll have every rught to feel aggrieved.

I just wonder if there's more to this than meets the eye? Maybe he feels he's being victimised for being a 'Wilkins man'? Maybe his agent is behind it (despite claiming not to know anything)?

"Joel Lynch is the most naturally talented defender in the division, and the way the club have treated him is as unwarranted as it is shabby. Under Wilkins, Joel was the very first name on the teamsheet, followed by Lynch. It is nothing short of a disgrace that he now has to "fight" for a place in the team that should by rights be already his. This chronic lack of recognition for such a rare and exquisite talent will not have gone unnoticed within the world of football, and I am busily charging up my phone in readiness for the deluge of inquiries that will inevitably come forth now it is known that my client is unhappy".
