It can, Man City, Chelsea, PSG are testament to that.

There's a lot of people on here who are keen to spend someone else's money though.

Man city have spend over half a billion and have about 2 premier league titles to show for it. Hardly a big success story. There are loads, loads more clubs that have spend millions and achieved nothing compared to those that had spent loads and achieved a lot.

Bit harsh on City. Prior to being acquired by Sheik Mansour they'd won the league title twice in a hundred years. They've now win in twice in the last three seasons, as well as the FA Cup and League Cup.

I'm reasonably confident that the success they've had is linked to the investment by Abu Dhabi, and it's more like a billion than half a billion though, similarly with Chelsea and Abramovic.

Their fans are moaning though this season because they're only fourth in the PL.

If we are gonna sign loan players we need to get youngsters from the premier league, look how well the likes of Bamford, Pritchard, Akpom etc have done. No use loaning players that are out of favour at their clubs because they are rubbish as they are probably happy to just pick up their wages and won't give a shit. At least the youngsters have more desire and want to proof they are ready

With FFP this coming season we can make a loss of 13 million and we got the 8 million from ulloa sale, so somewhere round the 15-20 million mark.

Think it said last season they had spent more than billion in the team and at least half billion on wages if not more.

Reality Check for some on here,,,,,,,,

You told us we were made now we had a billionaire chairman

You told us that with 30k crowds and the pies sold we were printing £££s

You told us that with FFP we would do well and the clubs who borrowed would get their comeuppance

You told us that Clubs that got parachute payments had it easy and walk promotion the next year

Now I'm reading that we are going to spend £15M very carefully from some gems in the spanish lower leagues and presumably the clubs that miss out on promotion are just going to let us storm the pre next year.

I think we will be lucky to spend £1M in the close so mid table would be good next season

There's a world of difference between how much we are ALLOWED to lose and how much Tony is PREPARED to spend out of his own pocket.
