If you go to semi-final+ in the EL, there's £35m in it - price money, TV money and matchday income put together. Maybe even more depending on sponsor stuff.

If there was a player where spending £35m on him would quite clearly take Brighton into Europe, the player would have been signed a long time ago.

Unless it’s champions league which is unlikely the answer is a firm No . The prize money is not much , would barely cover a £35m striker wages let along the transfer fee .
