??? - Don't see too many people boasting in this thread.
Well you show a poor grasp of human nature. Why else are the high earners voting in numbers?

Not really. Just a better grasp of statistics and of the meaning of the word "boasting".

With such a small number of voters then of course the poll is going to show skewed results. There's what - 5000 NSCers and how many have voted? Leave the poll up for a few weeks and then see after, say a few hundred have voted.

There are also other reasons why it could be skewed. Perhaps lower paid people tend to work on Saturdays, perhaps they don't have access to PC's at home and will vote when they use their work PC.

Also, you said people were boasting. If I wanted to boast about how much I earned if, hypothetically, I did earn shedloads then I'd not just respond in an anonymous poll. I'd also post a comment like (to be said in a Brummie accent) "I earn CONSIDERABLY MORE than you."

OK lets try an analogy.

The poll is entitled "How big is your willy?". Do you think there would be many votes from blokes with just 1 inch?

Not sure that analogy works here. I've just pointed out that statistical data can be very skewed with small samples, why low-earners might not post today (but might later) and that voting in an anonymous poll is hardly boasting.

I do take your point and I'm not dismissing it but it's a tad premature to make any conclusions. It also seems to me a little patronising to assume people might be embarrassed about not earning a lot.

I'm just saying people are less likely to volunteer that they own a small amount - this equates in modern society to being a failure (not my opinion).

Search the Internet and you will find numerous posts from people who claim to be worth a fortune.

How often do you see claims from people that they earn peanuts looking after the mentally ill, of emptying bed pans?

Its human nature. ie if you have a big willy then you will tell anyone who will listen.:yahoo:

In my permanent job I earn a fairly low wage, definately below average but I love my work so I don't mind but if I have a good month with acting work it can bump it up a fair bit. So some months are better than others.

I am an independent businessman, self-employed and work outdoors a lot

Is this another of those threads to find out all about me so you can steal my identity? If so I earn £101626.95. If not then I earn a little less.
