I've been travelling to South America a bit over the last few years, including three trips to Ecuador after our signings sparked my interest. While down there, I've been able to watch a few games on TV, including some matches from their continental club cup competitions. Honestly, for some of them I thought the game might have been played behind closed doors, but it turned out they just get some really small crowds. Below are some of the smaller crowds so far in the current group stage games of the Copa Sudamericana, the second tier club competition (think Europa League). This is not the football mania I had expected.
