You can use this website HERE to see what you paid in today's money. Works out inflation increase etc.

Yet to find a ticket price which, with inflation, should cost between £25 and £42.

I reckon some of the Withdean era tickets would come close, how much was a ticket in 2002/3 ???

Perhaps the bottom end price of £25 (which will be crap midweek games) but I doubt even the Withdean years ticket prices would top £30 odd adjusted for inflation.

Whatever they were charging in 87/88 for the North West Terrace at the Goldstone. About £8 maybe?

The first game I went to was Brighton vs Man Utd in the 82/83 season. I got in for free as my Grandad used to sneak me in through the gate he was steward on. This went on for quite a while and I think the first game I actually can remember paying for was the cup game against Arsenal in 1988, although as I was only 13 then I am sure it would have been paid for by my Dad.

I think it was about £1 for adults, 50p for kids; about 1980ish

My first was 1979, as a kid, was 50p (adults were £1). First as an adult would have been around 1984, not sure what price it was for adults then.

My first season as an adult was 80/81 and I think it was £1.20. In 1972 it was 20p for my first ever game.

Was it as much as that? I'm thinking that it didn't cost much more than 5 quid to get on the terraces before the early 90s when things everywhere started getting silly. I think that's what we used to pay to go and watch Norwich while at uni in Div 1 - probably equivalent to about 15 quid now. That'd give Paul Barber the shivers.

Memory's a bit hazy on this one but am pretty sure I used to pay 70p to get into the North Stand around 77-78. £3.60 odd in today's money.

To give you an idea how the price of watching football has rocketed, I used to pay a similar amount to go the cinema.
These days you can go see a film for £6-10 (depending on where you live). Cost you more than that for quite a few non-league sides!

You weren't an adult in 1973! You were only about 14 when I first met you in 1974! ('Cabaret' at the Connaught in case you've forgotten. I was in it with your brother Robin)

Sorry mis read the thread on 23rd April 1973 I was 8 years old. My dad paid 50p to get in.

I've always bought season tickets. What I do know, as I still have the season ticket book is that my first season in 1983/84 cost £21 for all 21 league matches (adult season ticket at the time was £42). So for me as a junior it was £1 per game and less than the price of 1 adult ticket at today's prices. £2 per game for an adult.
