If every other team won their games, (impossible I know) but for the sake of this thread lets just imagine they do, they how many wins do we need to stay up, McGhee reckons its 9.

But, we currently need 22 wins from 24 games to be assured of safety, easy!

9 wins out of 23 games would be great, but all would probably have to be 1-0 with our scoring record at the moment, so i can look forward to even more grey hair then ........

You are right! It is impossible. The teams have to play each other!

I am now totally confused, shurely if we won all our remaining games we would be certain of avoiding relegation, we would also be looking at making the play-offs!

It really doesnt make that much sense Gully I know, but if every team wins their games we still need 16 wins to be assured of safety, of course it cant happen but at least it should countdown to the points needed to stay in the division as the season progresses.

I recon winning 6 games and drawing 5 will do us

Where the 6 wins will come from I have no idea as we have had some very random results this term.....Winning at Leicester and losing at home to Stoke...Bizzare

Isn't this BG'S classic "Teams that can't catch us thread"? When we're in the lower divisions, most of the sides can't catch us by about March - however I fear this year it could drag on until the last week of the season or even be renamed "Teams that we can't catch".

Now all we need is Grimsby's relegation calculator!

I'd say we need to win 5 or 6 games, plus pick up some draws, to be safe.

Beating Notts Forest is going to be critical – winning that game takes us 12 points ahead of them, and starting to get beyond catching; losing it narrows the gap to 6.
