Only 40 squid in Maplins.

But does it shout "I'm here" when you lose it down the back of the sofa when the film/football is about to start on the other channel

Can you edit/set the names on the screen like the Sony?

Those things are useless unless you can map and name EVERY function.

Don't really get what you mean but it learns the buttons from your old remote so it'll basically do whatever your old remotes do.

A rather pathetic 3 I'm afraid. There was a funny item on Five Live a couple of nights ago about what do people call their remote controls. One bloke called in to say he called them Yorkies - because they're not for girls !

Can you name the buttons on the screen?

My amp remote has a test tone button, for example. Can you name a button "Test Tone", or do you have to remember to press shift, shift, 2 or whatever?

Ah, ok. You can't name them yourself but there are plenty of preset ones. When you set it up you keep pressing a button to cycle through the names/arrows/graphics etc. for each button you want. All buttons for a particular appliance are displayed so there is no using shifts or whatever. Don't know if it has a "test tone" but it probably has a "test".
However, seeing as you haven't used yours it's immaterial. You'd have been better paying £40 for one with less features since it would be doing just as much good as a paperweight.

Sorry, that one passed me by. We need a smiley for something going over your head. Who do we talk to about that?

Lidl. German purveyors of naff clothes, terrible food, but occasionally incredibly cheap and good electronics. Stores staffed entirely by Asians, frequented by chavs in Ireland at least, my visits there usually involve running in, buying a few hundred CD-R's for a few quid and bollocking it back out again.
