talking of bollocks....

A clip from the US press under the heading ...Terrorists...

(Copied)

One thing about guys from Australia is that their hearts and humour are always in the right place.

Tim Bechtel, from Newcastle, Australia, was asked on a live talk show just what he thought about allegations of torture of suspected terrorists.

His reply prompted his ejection from the studio but to thunderous applause from the audience.

He said -

If hooking up one raghead terrorist prisoner's testicles to a car battery to get the truth out of the lying little camelshagger will save just one Australian life, then I have only three things to say...

Red is positive

Black is negative, and

make sure his nuts are wet.

It's ironic that the popularity of St. George's Day is growing at a time when 39 British pubs a week are closing because this is just the sort of thing that should be making the pubs some money.

For my part I've told the wife I'll come home early from work and help with the kids if she cooks roast beef, Yorkshire Pudding and English mustard.

Well you see, you've just thrown some light on why St. George's day hasn't been the national day of celebration that many think it once was.

If the church can't be bothered about St. George, then it's hardly surprising is it ?

I haven't got a problem either way with whether St. George's Day becomes more or less popular.

What church are you referring to? Mine in West Sussex? This is what I was talking about in the other discussion regarding Dawkins. People seem to have NO clue how Churches/Christians actually work. We don't take "orders" from some grand high Church. I have no links or affinity with "The Church" - by which I guess you mean the Church of England. Neither do any of my friends.

It feels like all you guys see of Christianity/The Church is the two ends of the spectrum portrayed by the media;

Absolute nutters.

Old dodderers on Songs of Praise.

A large percent of Christians in the UK are nothing like either end.

Tough , you're quite happy to categorize anyone with a political stance remotely patriotic or to the right of yours as a "knuckle dragger blah blah blah ", have some of your own medicine.

You do a pretty good job of catergorizing yourselves. I'm all for reasoned debate and there plenty of people on here who may not share my viewpoint but are able to put across reasoned and well thought out viewpoints.

You, on the other hand, have the intelligence of an amoeba and deserve to be dismissed as such.

You lose all credibility when you come out with sweeping generalisations that infer all Muslims are liars.

a lovely theory, however, I would ask you - all these animals that dont go to church and have no religious believes - do they all get on nicely ?

I'm sure you're not a wierdy beardy "Kum by yah" or a coffin dodger trying to make last ditch amends but I am sure that you subscribe to a set of rules laid down by a bunch of ancient-possibly made up-characters which encourage you to feel superior to the non believers because you have a magic ticket to an imaginary place in the sky, which you will go to when you die, where they can't go because they were too silly to listen to you.

I also guess that you are told that all of the other people in the world who happened to be born somewhere else like Pakistan or Burma who have been brought up in a different tradition where there is another imaginary place in the sky which they aspire to reach, where you can't go, will be going to hell for all eternity because your God doesn't think much of them and therefore neither should you.

I further imagine that you are instructed that people who have different lifestyles to yours are to be actively dissuaded from following their nature be they Gay or Lesbian or whatever because this is against the Law of God, so despite them having no choice in their makeup they will surely go to Hell for deliberately sinning and ignoring your Gods instructions...far preferable that they deny their nature and live a miserable lie of a life than admit to their humanity.

For the above reasons and many many others I have no interest in "what Christians do" and would rather go somewhere else if Heaven is full of them.

Hahaha. You're priceless. If you knew me at all you would realise I am anything but humourless.

There is nothing tongue in cheek about xenophobic/racist generalisations.

I don't usually join in these religious debates but in my case you're wrong with regard to what I've 'absorbed'. For me it's all about an individual having a personal relationship with God and there is SO much more to it than trawling through the bible looking for things to oppose.

Wahey. OK I've found ONE person who is getting about 50% of the way there to getting it.

And who said there's no such thing as miracles?
