Discussion:

I am not making a stand publicly one way or another but chew this one over-

Is the recent plight of the club harder to take for those who have known the good times of the late 70's early 80's ( Div 1, Cup Final, proper pre-season tours to Europe etc etc), than those who perhaps have only known lower division football etc ( maybe who have followed the club since the early 90's)?

Meaty and contentious, but lets have a go at a reasonable discussion here.

As someone who started watching the Albion when we were in the bottom division, and then saw us climb to the top, only for us to fall again to the bottom, I just take things as they come and am thankful to still have a local league team to support.

Yep. I believe I started watching the Albion (on and off like) in 96.

Have only ever watched the Albion since they came "home" to Withdean, so two years of division 3, 2 championships, 1 play off success, 1 relegation and losing alot of games in division 1.

so I'm enjoying the ride, even if we end up in division 3, i'll still be buying my season ticket.

Found my home and staying put!

Agreed and it's one of the things that brought me back to Sussex.

I've followed the Albion since 1974 - aged 6.

My sister has followed them since 2000 after a correction therapy conversion from Manure.

She knows who is who far better than me - so i'd say that she is a bigger fan than I, even though I have followed the stripes for 26 years longer.

???

Hands up anyone who would want the Albion to repeat the period of 31 consecutive seasons in the same division?

Assuming its the Championshiop or League One,

I first started supporting the Albion in 1962,and at the end of that season we were relegated(for the 2nd successive season) to the 4th Division.42 years on,I've experienced every possible emotion from total despair to absolute ecstasy.Having said that ,I dont think I'm any more affected by the current situation than fans whose passion for the club has more recent origins-we all care,we all want to do whatever we can to help.
