How do you think the French feel?

Relieved? Ecstatic? Sure.

But they were seconds away from LOSING. They were out-thought and their heads were going down. They also had a goal scored against them for the first time in months. They won because of a couple of mistakes at the death and because Zidane was able to exploit the resulting set-piece opportunities.

Do you think the memories of the last World Cup are still in their minds?

I don't think they will be feeling quite so confident about the tournament this morning.

I'm with you Lush. The French were fairly poor and the game reminded me a lot of ours against BC in Cardiff. Yes, they had a lot more possession but didn't do anything really to hurt us. We gifted them the goals, but rather do it now when there is time to put the mistakes right than later in the tournament. I think we will learn a lot from this experience.

Newbury, Berkshire.
Hey, how did you feel after the 2nd leg against Swindon ?

I think this just exposes the weaknesses in the England side defensively. Would Charlie Oatway have tried to be clever like Gerrard ?

No ! He'd have booted it aimlessly upfield in true Oatway style.

Erricsson - get Oatway out to Portugal NOW !

Gary Hart surely must replace Scholes too!

Well I'd rather have Knight taking our penalties than Beckham to be honest, and I'm being serious there!

You are dreaming and clutching at straws Lush. The French will have their tails up and go from strength to strength after this result. If we had managed to beat them then they would have fallen apart, now I expect them to win at a canter.

I agree

they didn't play well, but they have three points on the board. Henry Trezourget and Pires can only get better.

What the f*** was Owen on last night BTW? Cocoa?

I have a French friend who has been intolerable this morning. She has been crowing about mugging us last night. Let's hope we get our own back!

Yeah, well, perhaps you should crow about us outplaying them. ;)
Remember - we're English - to us it's the playing well that counts...
